Note: Black

Note

The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice.

There’s more to black than meets the eye. A high-gloss piano black will reflect every color in a room. And the tone of the black will vary from cool to warm depending on the temperature of the light falling on it.

We need to be careful when selecting black. What exact black are we looking for? A solid black? Or an ever so slightly lighter ebony? Crow?

Do we want a deep midnight black? Jet black? Ink? Raven? Oil? A lush grease? Onyx? Pitch? Sable?

Perhaps a metal black? Obsidian? A viscous oil? A less dense soot?

We should never take colors for granted. We should always seek their greater meaning. Look to the psychology behind colors.
