Note: How emotions trump logic and reason every time

Note

People are not rational agents. Despite what some old school economists will tell us, we do not act like automatons following one logical decision after the other.

In the Western philosophical tradition, our decision-making processes have long been associated with our ability to think and reason correctly on the alternative courses of action open to us.

However, neurological and psychological studies show that there’s more to decision making than rationality and common sense. A lot more.
