MELBOURNE (Boscutti Report) — Former Victorian MP David Feeney will be deported to Britain under strict federal expulsion laws.
Mr Feeney quit parliament following a British citizenship fiasco involving the family dog. It is illegal for dual citizens to be elected to parliament.
About 3000 criminals have been deported in the past two years in the federal government’s ‘get tough approach on crime.’
Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton called on Mr Feeney to be deported immediately.
‘We need to weed out the people who have done the wrong thing, deport them where we can,’ he said.
‘They don’t belong in Australian society.’
