CANBERRA (Boscutti Report) — Labor Leader Bill Shorten is preparing his team for an early federal election. Labor has begun putting in place its campaign infrastructure, with plans to ‘hit the ground running as fast as we can without tripping over our own feet’ as soon as Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull calls the next election. Labor has begun internally recruiting for its communications, policy, targeted seats, legal and advertising units, with preselections in Western Australia almost finished and Queensland expected to follow suit next month.
