SYDNEY (Boscutti Report) — Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has told colleagues the Turnbull government should not blindly follow Labor and create a federal bribery commission – an initiative flagged by Bill Shorten in a scene-setting speech in January. Abbott moves to rename Australia Day

  SYDNEY (Boscutti Report) — Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has launched a campaign to rename Australia’s national day of celebration ‘Britain Day’. ‘British settlement was a very good thing – it’s something that all of us, on balance, can and should be proud of,’ he said. ‘It’s something we should celebrate.’ Mr Abbott suggested Australians couldn’t afford to ‘wallow in endless, carping self-criticism.’ ‘Self-awareness is the last thing we need,’ he said.
