Are you overpromising?

Most products and services make promises that are too big.

So damn big they’re unbelievable. And undeliverable. Which is a double no-no.

In a world of bluster, hype and outright lies, people are wary of believing anything. Especially any grandiose claims or promises. Don’t give them even more reason not to believe you.

When you overpromise, it’s too easy to underdeliver and ultimately underwhelm.

When you promise less, it’s a lot easier to overdeliver and bring a little unexpected delight.  A little frisson of unexpected pleasure.
