Not so fast

So it’s a Monday and the CEO David Solomon of Goldman Sachs has had enough.

Those remote work trials, hybrid work modes, flexible work arrangements? They’re over.

The CEO wants everyone back at the 44-story headquarters in lower Manhattan. So all 10,000 employees are ordered back to the office full-time.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who’s been on his own dogged mission to bring office workers back to the city, hosts a town hall meeting to welcome back the bank’s employees.

But only a few thousand employees turn up. Over the week, a thousand here and a thousand there come in to work a day or two.

More than half of the employees defy the CEO’s order.

What’s the world coming to?
