It’s not easy being creative.
Jumping onto Canva, pulling up a stock image and typing “20% OFF” in the headline panel isn’t being creative. Not even if you type it all in upper case. Or add some filters. Or drop shadows.
Like a lot of what passes for creative these days, it’s a brief. No matter how colorful or tricked up, it’s still just a brief. It’s a good place to start.
Being creative means taking the mundane and - wait for it - creating something that hasn’t previously existed.
Something that is the opposite of mundane. Something unexpected yet intriguing.
Something with an idea that sparks the imagination.
Something odd yet satisfying.
