Our politicians are getting angsty.
In Melbourne, Australia, ongoing protests around coronavirus vaccines and government overreach have been swirling around the steps of the state parliament building while politicians inside vote on the legislation.
Thousands of loud and angry protestors with megaphones, flags, posters, chanting, drumming. Lots of bravado and brouhaha. Oh, yes, and a makeshift gallows with trapdoor and roped noose. There’s nothing like coming prepared.
But a full-size working guillotine might be a better way to get the point across to those feckless politicians. A little less dangly, a lot more on point.
A better beacon for democracy in these estranged times.
