Try a novel approach

If the idea of taking our people to an art gallery seems a little way out (or if we think the parking fees will kill us) then why not open minds with a novel or short story.

Reading fictional literature leads to better information processing generally, including creativity. It’s the antidote to snap judgments, rigid thinking, and bad decision making.

University of Toronto scholars report that people who have just read a short story have less need for cognitive closure. Compared with peers who have just read an essay, they expressed more comfort with disorder and uncertainty - attitudes that allow for both sophisticated thinking and greater creativity.
