Monday is the busiest day to visit the Magic Kingdom with an average wait time of thirty-eight minutes.

Not that visitors seem to mind. Sure people can buy a one-time fast pass to bypass the standby line for a popular attraction. But they don’t care because they’re all on their phones.

They’re not looking up at the attractions, the rides, the shows. They’re not looking around the most magical place on earth. They’re looking down at their screens.

They’re going through their feeds at diabolical speeds. Scrolling through content in milliseconds. Downloading and instantly opening new apps. Playing games with a YouTube video playing on the same screen. Watching videos at double speed.

Hurtling headlong through the pixels while time slips by.
