If Aldous Huxley could see us now.
When he wrote “Brave New World” almost a hundred years ago, Aldous envisioned an unequal, technologically-advanced future where humans are genetically bred, socially indoctrinated and pharmaceutically anaesthetised to passively uphold an authoritarian ruling order - all at the cost of our freedom.
Our souls, our humanity become slaves (or is it salves?) to technological and governing elites. We’re educated to compete and consume but never to question.
The saddest thing? We did it to ourselves. We gave up our freedom for sex, drugs and media.
For our almost infinite appetite for distractions.
For sating our fleeting pleasures.
