Review: “More Better Deals”
Joe R. Lansdale lets rip with a novel about love and lust gone horribly wrong.
There’s an ambitious schmo and a scheming dame. There’s gritty and witty characters aplenty.
It’s the old let’s-kill-the-deadbeat-husband-for-the-insurance-money-so-we-can-take-over-an-East-Texas-drive-in-and-pet-cemetery-and-live-happily-ever-after plot. It’s savage redneck noir all the way.
Set in the early 1960s there’s the ever underlying issue of race. Not to mention killer dialogue on every page.
And enough twists and turns to propel the story forward.
